After a wonderful week in Rome (post coming soon) and a not so wonderful 19 hour day of traveling, we are finally back in the beautiful United States of America for a visit. I have to say, of all the amazing places I've been in the past year, nothing beats the spacious skies and amber waves of grain of America.
By the way, I never actually understood that song until I moved to Europe. Isn't the sky the same everywhere? No. Never take the American sky for granted, all you Americans out there. There's nothing like it.
But anyway, these brownies I made in Germany. You can probably tell by the strange spelling of yogurt as seen below.
One of the best parts of living in Germany is the chocolate. Specifically this yogurt filled chocolate. Not only is the yogurt-chocolate combo delicious, it is also inspirational. Thus the brownies.
The only mistake I made when writing down the recipe is that at first I wrote "Nutella (optional)". I sat back and checked for typos and was shocked to see what I had just typed. The Nutella is never optional.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go speak English a million words a minute to my fellow English speakers whom I've been deprived of for the past five months.

- Brownies with Nutella Greek Yogurt Frosting
- 1 9x13 inch pan of cooked and cooled brownies (I used these flourless brownies, but you can also use this recipe which is my favorite basic brownie recipe)
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup softened butter
- 2/3 cup plain greek yogurt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/3 cup Nutella
- combine the butter and yogurt and beat until smooth. Add the powdered sugar 1/2 cup at a time until incorporated. Add more yogurt or powdered sugar until desired thickness is reached. Add the vanilla and beat until smooth. Frost brownies.
- Warm up the Nutella in a microwavable bowl until melted. Drizzle over brownies. Store in the refrigerator.
I love that chocolate, Have you tried the one with vanilla mousse ? It's delicious. But my favourite is Zartbitter and 'mit ganze mandeln and honig".
ReplyDeletePS. Awesome brownie ;)
I'm not sure if I should be ashamed to say this, but I think I've tried every flavor and they're all awesome. :D
