Peanut Butter Pretzel Granola Bars with Peanut M&Ms


We arrived safely at Gramps and Beanie's place here in Florida last night. I know. You were worried we would get in a snowstorm related car accident or die of malnutrition along the way. You're probably ecstatic to hear that this is not the case because if I had died somewhere along the way, all of my recipes would have died with me.

Is that really all you care about you sick beings?

Humph.




There's Cookie. She wants someone to take her down to the beach.

(Just kidding. I just told her to pose like that so you could see her amazing hair.)


And that's the beach. I didn't even have to move a single inch from taking the last picture to take this one. LET ME BE LAZY. STOP JUDGING. 


Yup. I still hadn't moved.

Okay, these next ones are cool. Down the beach there's a drum circle every Sunday night. A bunch of people bring their various drums and play them for a few hours while everyone else dances or sits on blankets watching. A few people were doing some really cool dancing with glowing hula hoops so I took a few pictures with my powershot. I turned the shutter speed really slow to get a long exposure so you can see the movement in the hoops.



The girl with the blue hoop was cuh-razy.


Anywho... my pastiness is now subsiding and my ears are full of sand so all is well.

And I'm still munching on these granola bars which I made for the ride here. You should make some too. Then you can eat them as you sit by your fires and draw faces on your frosty windows or something.




Peanut Butter Pretzel Granola Bars with Peanut M&Ms

2/3 cup Rice Krispies
1 cup quick rolled oats
1 cup crushed pretzels
1/3 cup graham flour
1 cup coconut
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
2/3 cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons flax seeds
2/3 cup crunchy peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup melted butter
1/3 cup honey
1 cup peanut m&ms
1/2 cup chocolate chips

Preheat the oven to 350ยบ.
Combine all of the ingredients in a large bowl.
Line a 9x13 inch pan with parchment paper. Leave some paper hanging over the edge so that the bars will be easier to remove from the pan.
Press the mixture firmly and evenly into the pan.
Bake for about half an hour or until the edges are browned.
Cool completely before removing from the pan and cutting into bars. Put them in the freezer if you're impatient.
